I've just started researching my Irish ancestors. The farthest back I can go is Michael Morrison 1798-1874. He was born in Inishuron (Inishowen? not sure of spelling). He is the son of John Morrison 1780-. They ran a shebeen near the grounds of Gowlaun Roman Catholic Church, Killadoon. He emigrated to Canada in 1832. I don't know what port they went out of. They settled in Leeds County, Ontario, Canada, where he and his family lived on the east lot 10, Concession 8. They immigrated to the United States from Canada in 1858 with several families in wagons drawn by seven teams of oxen. Michael farmed in Iowa, Cass Township, Wapello County, Iowa, US. They later lived in Franklin Township, then Jackson Township, both in Monroe County, Iowa. I'm still digging to find who John (Michael's father) was and if I can find out how far back I can go in my Irish history. I'll be signing up to get a irelandxo account.

Ruth:
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
You posted your message in the Inishkeel parish in Co. Donegal. I located a Find a Grave article https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/78547640/michael-morrison which indicates that Michael Morrison was from Kilgeever parish in southwest Co. Mayo. Unfortunately, the church records for that parish start in 1850 so no records would be available for your family.
