Hi, I'm tracing any relatives of the Commins family. William was born in 1798 and his wife, Bridget Teresa Byrne in 1795. One of their daughters, Mary, married Martin Hennessy and came to Australia on the vessel "Thetis" in 1850 with their 5 chidren aged 14-2.
Thanks, any help woud be appreciated.

Hello Christina, thank you for replying to my post. I would appreciate any information you would like to share regarding Commins and Hennessy families. Martin was my GGGrandfather, so I think that would make us 4th cousins. I know Mary Commins father was William (1798-) and mother Bridget Teresa Byrne (1795-) and they came from Ardmayle, Tipperary. I can't find any information regarding Martin's parents. Martin and Mary's 3rd daughter Catherine (born in Australia) was my GGrandmother.
Thankyou kindly for posting.

Hi,
I'm from the Ardmayle area and there were a family of Comans/Commins living next to my ancestors in the townsland of Clareen. I think there may also have been a family of Comans living in the townsland of Nodstown at one stage also. There is one family with that surname still residing in the village of Boherlahan which incorporates the parish of Ardmayle today.
When researching the above townslands they do not include the parish name (possibly due to the close proximity of the parish to the town of Cashel) so for example, you would find a birth cert for a Michael Commin with the address Clareen, Cashel.
I'd highly recommend using the following websites for your research, I've found them invaluable in my own research.

Hope this is of help to you.
