Thank you, for creating such a platform!
I have hit a brick wall with my research back from my GG Grandfather John O'Brien (of Dyrick, Dungarvan) who married Ellenam Prendergast (b 1838 Clonmel) (in 1855). They lived on their farm at Ballymacarbry and had 4 children: Catherinum (Catherine B 1856); Patritium (Pat B 1858), Maria (Mary B 1860) and my grandfather John (B 1863).
All 4 were Baptised at Touraneena Parish - but from there the trail goes cold on Maria and Patritium (Maria may have died young?) Pat is supposed to have married Elen Millea and they had Patsey and John (cannot find any supporting documentation on these members)
In addition to the above, I would very much appreciate any sites you can suggest to help me find John O'Brien (Snr) born around 1835 - as to who his parents were.
Thank you so much.

Hello:
Thank you for your post to the message board and welcome to Ireland Reaching Out.
As a matter of interest, there are 3 O'Brien families who resided in Dyrick townland in the 1901 Census and you might view them to see if there is any connection.
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Waterford/Ballynamult/Dyrick/
I do note that Ballymacarbry townland in the 1901 Census does not list any O'Brien families, but does have a Michael Brien listed as a servant and living with a Quinlan family.
I am going to copy this query to Eddie Cantwell who works at Waterford Museum. He has a lot of knowledge and experience with tracing families in Waterford. If you would like me to share your email address, please contact me directly at: jhalloranryan@irelandxo.com.
Kind regards,
Jane

thank you, so much Jane!
I had tried searching 1901 and 1911 Cenus' but refining my search with the right Parishes etc was challenging, so I am very grateful for the information.
I look forward to learning what Eddie finds for us.
Kind regards,
Annette
