My name is Pauline Smyth nee Murray and I was born and lived in Drung Parish.
I am trying to find out details about my Grandfather especially where he is buried and the details I have are very scarce .
His name is John Murray, a Fowl Dealer from Drumcalpin, married to Annie Murray nee Lynch, school teacher. He died between the years 1918 and 1925, my Granmother subsequently married Patrick Olwill and they are both buried in Drumcalpin cemetery.
I would be so very grateful for any information you can give me.

Hi Pauline, I can see no death record on the Irish Genealogy site, this may be because it was not registered or he died post 1921 in what is now Northern Ireland, or he died during the war of Independence or the civil war say from 1919 to 1923. I see a marriage of a John Murray and Anne Lynch in Trim, Co. Meath in 1909, however she is a servant and he a labourer, it would be normal to marry in the wifes parish so if she was a teacher she may be from anywhere. Both names are tricky as they are common to most counties. I looked at the 34 Cavan Murray deaths as there is no John in case there was a mistranscription but even the ages are not helpful as he would be too young or too old.
I do not currently have access to Roots Ireland, a subscription site and Ancestry does not always have the spouse. Irish Genealogy civil records are free online here https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/ sign in but free, no church records to suit so use civil but as I say names are common enough.
There are two Facebook pages on Cavan Genealogy, apply to join and see if anyone knows them, they are Cavan Genealogy and IGP's Cavan Genealogy.
The census has a John Murray in Drumcalpin age 21 living with his father and sister who was born in New York, she is 19. http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/ This would put his marriage post 1911 so rules out the one I find but at least narrows your search, if you know how many children there was before he died it will narrow the year of death too.
He married in 1912 in the registration district of Cootehill, I still cannot find a suitable death.

Thank you very much for your reply and guidance.
I have found my grandad on the 1901 and 1911 census and also the marriage cert 28/1/1912 when he and my Grandmother married and also the marriage certificate for my Grandmothers second marriage dated 9/2/1925 to Patrick Olwill. One very strange thing is that if there is no death cert how could she have remarried unless he died at war, also on the second marriage cert her name was Annie Lynch, which was her maiden name, but she had married John Murray so I cannot understand this.
Do you know that if he died at war where would I locate the records.
