Through dna, we have been able to find five children of James and Mary (Burns) Kennedy: James, Bridget, Margaret, Mary Ann, and Patrick. They were born circa 1825-1840. Some of their baptisms are found in the RC church of Stonehall, Kilcornan. Later we belive the family moved to Limerick City.
Also through dna we have found a brother of Mary Burns.
Has anyone heard of these families?
Mary Margaret of Bridget Kennedy's line (my mtdna goes right back through Mary Burns)

My 3x G Grandmother, Catherine O'Kennedy, died in Kilcornan in 1853. Griffiths recorded her in the town land of Mornane in Kilcornan.along with other Kennedy families. At the time of her death she was a widow of James O'Kennedy and her son, Daniel, was the parish priest at Stonehall. She was prob born about 1780. Her other children that I know of were Denis, Margaret, and Catherine. Thanks for posting, maybe there is a connection to your family. Laura

Good day, Laura,
My goodness, this is exciting. The names and area sound like a definite possibility! Another Margaret too. :) I wonder if the two James Kennedys were cousins?
Do you have a family tree? Have you had your dna tested?
I live in Upstate New York, but originally am from Detroit. Many of the other Kennedys had Chicago connections, and one family ended up in Australia.
My email is: vandammetunk@gmail.com.

My great grandfather James Guerin had a sister Maria (Mary) born 1843 in Kilcornan. In 1875 she married Thomas Kennedy at Kilcornan Church and they had three children - Michael (1877), Mary (1883) and Patrick (1884). Thomas Kennedy's parents were Michael Kennedy and Margaret Stokes. Thomas Kennedy lived at Crokerspark (Pallaskenry) which is just by Kilcornan. Morenane is right by Kilcornan too. I live in New Zealand.

Somehow I missed your last reply, and it is a very interesting one, as we have one of the Kennedy siblings, Patrick, who ended up in Australia.
Have you had your dna done?
