I am researching a Hugh McLaughlin born 1818 in Ireland. I found some McLaughlins in the Ireland Tithe Applotment book 1814-1855. Donegal Kilmacrenan 1825. This page lists a James, Dennis, Peter, Hugh, John, Charles, Edward McLaughlin. Would there be any birth records to show a Hugh born in 1818? Tests say Ulster Ireland? He traveled to the US at some point and married an Elizabeth Evans from Llanddeiniolen, Caernarvonshire Wales. They were married 14 April 1852 Columbia, WI.I appreciate any information on this family. Thank you Cate

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
There are no baptismal records available for Co. Donegal back to 1818. Co. Donegal is one of the nine counties in the North which are part of Ulster Province.
McLaughlin is a very common surname in Co. Donegal. I checked the Tithe listings as you did and there were over 500 McLughlin records in a number of parishes in Co. Donegal.
I would look at your top DNA matches particularly any with a McLaughlin in their tree and contact them and see if you can make a connection.
You can also add Hugh's emigration story to our XO Chronicles site https://irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy/ancestor-database

Still researching Hugh McLaughlin, with some other information. He was born between 1818 and 1822 in Donegal. The family was Presbyterian. Hugh McLaughlin was a stowaway on his uncles ship, from Ireland to Canada. He shows up in Randolph, Columbia, Wisconsin in 1850 State Federal Census. Marriage record 1852 in Randolph, Columbia, Wisconsin. The other piece of information was he had a relative maybe an uncle, who was a Bishop in the Presbyterian Church of England, in Londonderry, Ireland. Looking to find out when he came to US. Who is parents and siblings were in Donegal. Contact Cboback@mac.com
