I am searching for the births and marriage of Thomas Tierney and his wife Elizabeth Dunphy ( Betty ). Their children's births, Michael, Margaret, Mary and Edward all appear in th RC church registers of Inistioge but I cannot find information on their parents. The eldest child Michael was born in 1832 so maybe the marriage was a bit before then. The parish priest gave me their names from the birth registers. I am descended from Edward born 1837 Inistioge. Thank you

I checked for possible marriages for Thomas and Elizabeth/Betty in Inistioge and the adjacent Catholic parishes, but did not locate any good potential matches either… the marriage records for the Catholic parish of Inistioge go back to about 1827, but there could be gaps or faded/damaged pages, so might be worth a browse through the register images in case details of a marriage are present but mistranscribed by the various search indexes.
Marriages generally took place in the bride’s parish, so it’s possible that the marriage took place in a different nearby parish which does not have records covering the time-frame required.

Thank you for trying. Yes l too have searched nearby parishes without success. I have gone through the Inistioge registers. They are difficult to read the further back you go so l could be missing something. I did find Michael Tierney their son born 1832 which no other transcription has found and the parents names are clear. There are some missing pages apparently, probably just for the years l need. Thomas and Betty could be from anywhere l suppose, though at least the family stayed in Inistioge till the present making it easy to connect them to my grandfather John Tierney who went to England. Greatful thanks once again. Joan
