Johnston Caldwell migrated to Caswell Maine USA in 1873. His parents John and Eliza Caldwell had left Ireland around 1853 for New Brunswick Canada, and left Johnston in Maghernageeragh with Eliza's parents William Henry Caldwell and Margaret Wilson Caldwell. (John and Eliza were distant cousins).

Patti,
You haven’t said what information you are looking for so I’ll just through the information that is easily available on these families.
Don’t know whether you have John & Eliza’s marriage certificate but if not here’s a copy. They married in 1849 in Killeter Presbyterian church:
Killeter Presbyterian has baptism & marriage records from 1839 onwards. There’s a copy in PRONI in Belfast.
One of the William Caldwells died 7.2.1884 aged 75. His wife was still alive. Informant was son Robert. There are some other possible deaths eg one in 1874 aged 84 and another in 1869 aged 82. Neither is on-line free yet so you would need to look them up on the GRONI website if you want the details.
There was a Margaret Caldwell who died 1870 aged 70. Again that’s not on-line free yet.

Note: JP means Justice of the Peace (ie in some jurisdictions a magistrate)

Apart from the 1 will which is on-line, for the others you need to go to PRONI to look them up (or pay PRONI to copy them for you).
5 Caldwells from Maghernageeragh signed the Ulster Covenant in 1912 (so that tells you what their views were on Irish Home Rule). Isabella, John, Kate, Mary J & William. John was living in Thornbank, Dumbarton at the time (Scotland) so you may find he settled there. Worth checking the 1911 Scottish census.

Elwin:
Thank you for all of the information. I appreciate your search. I never searched outside my immediate family to find everything you've published today. My cousins in Castlederg have been a wealth of information and I am thrilled I was able to visit them last August.
