Looking for descendants of Margaret Howard (abt 1841-1919) who married Patrick Kilcoyne. The 1901 Irish census has them living in Co. Mayo parish Kilgeever. Sons Thomas (1871-) and Patrick (1877-). Margaret's parents were Edward Howard (abt 1800-1864) and Bridget Moran (abt 1804-). In Griffith's valuation 1855., Edward the father is farming in Kilgeever parish. Her siblings were Edward (abt 1825-1895), Lawrence (abt 1830-1911), Bridget (1836-1897), Michael J. (1839-1905), Mary (Abt 1841-1912), John E. (1846-1914). All the siblings and their mother Bridget came to the U.S. between 1856 and 1865 and settled in Olyphant, PA which is the Scranton, PA area except for Bridget who settled in Sommersworth, New Hampshire. Margaret may also have had two sisters Catherine and Honor (no information on them). Her siblings spouses were: Edward married Nora McDonough, Lawrence married Mary Honor Naughton, Bridget married James Riley/Reilly, Michael J. married Mary Morrison, Mary married John Moran and John E. married Margaret (maiden name unknown).
From the 1901 Irish census, Margaret's son Thomas married Bridget and their two children were John (1899-) and Mary (1900-).
Lastly, family oral tradition has it that Edward Howard and Bridget Moran Howard came to Kilgeever parish from Belmullet. It appears that this Howard family was present in Kilgeever parish for two generations only. Any information on Edward and Bridget Moran Howard would also be greatly appreciated!

My great-grandfather was named Patrick Howard McNulty, born about 1866 in Achill, possibly Shraheens, Cashel or Keel. So many folks share the same names it's hard to find the right one. He went to Parsons, PA near Scranton, married Mary Kelly from Rosturk and then moved to Cleveland. No one knows where the name Howard came from.

Thank you for that information, yes, with everyone having the same name it is difficult to figure out who is who. Our Howard line was only in Kilgeever for two generations, that we can figure out, before coming to the U.S. We have Kelly in our family line and I will keep the McNulty name in my notes in case I come accross it.
