I am trying to trace relatives from Portumna, Galway and would be grateful for any help please.
My grandmother is Margaret "Maggie" Monaghan and her father is John Monaghan.
She married Thomas Connor in Portumna in 1921. Thomas' father is Patrick "Pat" Connor
in 1922 Margaret listed her adddress at Shannon Rd, Eyecourt, Portumna. Margaret and Thomas moved to Dublin post- 1922 but I do not have any information regarding dates.
I have joined "findmypast" but unfortunately there are several Monaghan and Connor families and I'm not sure which branch could be my relatives. I also recall being told that there is a connection with the Burke family.
I will also cross reference this post under the name of Margaret Monaghan.

You are related to my family from Portumna. My grandfather was Christy Monaghan and he lived on the Shannon Rd Portumna. My grandmother was Alice Conner from Eyrecourt. Please get in touch if you would like anymore family info. You will find you have a lot of relatives. Christy was one of 22 children so you will find you have a lot of relatives. Maria Murray

Thomas and Maggie were my grandparents. Their son was Joseph O'Connor was your grandfather Albert "Tommy" O'Connor's brother. I have connected with your mum Kate on FB and I think you too now! Lovely to have connected with another relative x
