I'm searching for my Ancester, James McCracken, born I believe in the 1790s in Antrim. He emigrated to the US in the 1830s, settling in Baltimore, Maryland. He had a son named James born @1830. I've seen conflicting information if the son was born in Ireland or Baltimore. Any help or advice would be most appreciated. Thank you, Terry McCracken

When you say James might have been born in Antrim, do you know if that was the county or the town?
There are not many records for people born in the 1790s. Few churches have records for that period. But to be sure of finding the right person you really need his parents names which you might get from his death certificate or a naturalisation certificate. Knowing his denomination would also help.
