Asking for the impossible. Daniel Hogan born 1825, would be my second great grandfather. Just following some DNA to Tipperary. He married Mary? They immigrated to Schuylkill county Pennsylvania and their son Daniel J Hogan was born in 1855. Thank you so much. Lisa

    Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!

Without Daniel's parents names there is no way to confirm any records we could locate. On the subscription site Roots Ireland there are two Daniel Hogan baptismal records in 1825 in North Tipperary and others in nearby years. Roots Ireland does not have all the parishes on their data base for South Tipperary and you would have to search on either FindMyPast or Ancestry to see what might be available. Regarding marriages, on Roots Ireland there are many Daniel Hogan marriages to a Mary in Tipperary but no way to know if any pertain to your ancestor.

You may want to add Daniel's story to our XO Chronicles page. https://irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy/ancestor-database

  • Thank you so much for replying. I thought this would be impossible. The name is probably very common. I will definitely try all of your suggestions. Lisa
