In search of the McGuinness Family

Hello, I'm looking for some guidance in looking for my ancestors. My great grandad Christopher McGuinness who I believe was born in Kilkenny in 1890 or around there. He married a Mary Crowley in Liverpool (records says 1809) My grandad didn't give my dad much information with regards to my great grandad, but I believe my grandad was asked by his auntie to help run the hotel she owned (don't know of her name) I was told by my auntie that she doesn't know whether this woman couldn't have children of her own or whether she had already lost her babies at some point. If anyone could help shed some light please, that would be amazing, Thankyou. Hayley
