Hello,
I have located some Ancestors in Tartaraghan in the 1901 census. I am wondering if there are other records for Tartaraghan that may be worth searching?
Many Thanks
Mike

Mike,
Samuel & Maria married in 1851 in Tartaraghan COI:

This looks to be them in 1901 in Breagh Lower:

I think they both died in 1909:

Their son in law Moses Trouton was the informant.

Hi Elwyn,
Many thanks for your research and efforts with this request! I am new to Irish records and genealogy databases and would have struggled to find all of these documents so quickly. You have helped to open up the Lennon branch of my family history, thanks again.
I wonder if it is possible to identify records for Samuel's father George? How far back do Irish records go for BMD?
Kindest regards,
Mike

Mike,
Statutory registration of births deaths & RC marriages started on 1.1.1864. Non RC marriages were registered from 1st April 1845. Prior to those years you need to rely on church records. Not all parishes have records and those that do exist are not always on-line. Tartaraghan Church of Ireland has baptisms and marriages from 1824 and burials from 1828. There’s a copy in PRONI (the public record office) in Belfast.
I searched for a George Lennon, old enough to be Samuel’s father, and who died 1864 – 1901. I only found the one. The age and occupation fit and he was from Tartaraghan parish. He died in Lurgan Workhouse on 14.3.1883 aged 83. His wife was still alive at that date.

I had a look to see if I could identify his wife but without success. You may get her name from church records though.
Lurgan Workhouse records are kept in PRONI. If the admission books for around 1883 survive you may get a little more information on George from them. (They are not on-line).
Most Irish research comes to a standstill around 1800 due to the lack of records before that.
