Hello
I am looking for any information that anyone might be able to provide for my 3rd great-grandfather Marty (Murta, Murphy, Murtagh) Quinn and my 3rd great-grandmother Ann Corrigan. I believe they both may be from Youghalarra, Tipperary.
I have found limited information about their life in Ireland on Ancestry.com and was wondering if any further infomation could be found on here.
I think Marty was born in 1825 (according to age provided on English census) and Ann was born 1831. Both were born in Ireland, however a specific place within Ireland isn't documented. What makes me believe that they are from Youghalarra is that Marty and Ann married in Youghalarra in November 1845 according to the Ireland, Catholic Parish Registers, 1655-1915: Parish Variants:Arra, Burgess, Burgess and Youghal, Youghal, Youghalarra: Diocese:Killaloe, that I found on Ancestry.com. I also know that they had a child, Mary Quinn, born in Youghalarra on 04/08/1846 and baptised on 05/08/1846 in the Killaloe diocese according to Ancestry.com.
They both ended up living in Bolton, Lancashire, England and had 5 children Mary (1846, Youghalarra), Catherine (1850, Bolton), Michael (1851, Bolton), Ann (1864, Bolton) and Philip (1867, Bolton). Michael being my maternal 2nd great-grandfather. This means that they left Ireland between 1846 and 1850. Marty's was a Tailor in Bolton, however I'm not sure if he had the same occupation in Ireland.
That is the only infomation I have about their life in Ireland and I'm curious to see whether anyone can provide any further info, including who their parents are if that is possible. Any information at all would be much appreciated.
Many thanks
Peter

Hi Peter,
Attached copy of marriage - Mortimer Quin and Ann Corrigan. Ann is from Ballywilliam between Nenagh and Birdhill. (Transcription)
The following records are available free: www.nationalarchives.ie for baptisms up to 1880 and Tithe Records - 1823 -1837 for Land Records.
Some church records were not kept until the 1870's, so there may not be any for Mortimer and Ann.
