If anyone has information on any of my relatives before they left Ireland, I would love to receive it.
Robert Flemming was apparently born in Donegal circa 1765, married Jane (Jennie) Scott and emigrated to New Brunswick, Canada in May 1818. Jane's Mom was either a Jean Stuart or Stewart.
Mary Flemming circa 1801, their daughter, emigrated in 1820. Mary Flemming married William Gray, also from Ireland. I have no information on William before he emigrated in Jul 1820 from Ireland. He was born circa 1801.
William Gray had a brother John. their parents being Daniel & Matilda Gray.
thanks!
Marcia

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I assume your ancestors were Church of Ireland. The subscription site Roots Ireland has records back to the late 1700s/early 1800s for about six of the C of I parishes in Donegal but many of the other parishes have records which start much later. I did a search on Roots Ireland and could not find any records of the two marriages mentioned in your note or the baptismal record for Mary Flemming around 1801. Likely their parish was one of the parishes with records starting much later in the 1800s.
You are welcome to add Robert's (and Mary's) story to our XO Chronicles site https://irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy/ancestor-database This IRO article may also be of interest. https://irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy/ancestor-database

Hi Roger: Thanks for looking into my post. You are correct, they probably were Church of Ireland parishoners but William Gray may have been Presbyterian and his family originally from Scotland but I cannot prove this. Most of my family, C of I or Catholic seem to end with their births in Ireland. I will look closely at your attachments. My main problem is that I do not know where many of my family were from other than "Northern Ireland" so do not know the county to attach any stories to. Thanks again, Marcia
