Looking for information on my Canty family from Dromcolliher, Co Limerick.
John Canty b 1750 married Honora Flynn.
Timothy Canty b 1780 married Honora Daly.
They had James, John, Malachy and Timothy, Sarah and Mary.
James m Mary Jordan in 1834 and the family emigrated to Australia in c1844.
We have Mary's father listed as Joseph on her death certificate but he is listed as John on the immigration list so if anyone out there is able to shed some light on his real name I would be most grateful.
Any information or connections on the Canty, Jordan, Daly or Flynn families would be most warmly welcomed.

    Unfortunately, the RC parish records for Dromcolliher /Broadford parish do not start until 1830. So other than the marriage record which you located there are no other older records to be found. I assume you have the baptismal records for John 1835 Tim 1837 Jeremiah 1838 David 1840 sons of James Canty and Mary Jordan. There would also be baptismal records for children of the siblings of James Canty.

    Details... but do NOTE these follow James + Mary's emigration to Australia in c1844.
    There may be other tributaries but I was aiming to follow just 1 x Canty line through to ...Me!

    They had 6 children incl. John, Timothy + 4 other children including... Jeremiah Canty (my great grandfather)

    They emigrated to Australia in c1844

    Jeremiah Canty (b 1839 Dromcolliher - d1903 Gordon Victoria) m 1864 Anne Murnane (b 1847 Tipperary - d1905)
    They had 11 children incl James, Owen + 9 other children including... Patrick Ignatius Canty

    Patrick Ignatius Canty (b 1834 - 1945 Dandenong, Victoria) m 1911 Mary Maloney (b 1879  - d1966 Dandenong)
    They had 7 children...Mary, Anne, Therese, Veronica, Monica, Patrick... + James Aloysius Canty

    James Canty (b 1918 d 1984) m 1947 Bacchus Marsh Patricia McFarland (b 1919  - d1990)
    They had 9 children... Patrick, Mary, Anne, Chris, Clare, Kathleen, Josephine, James... + John Canty...Me! .
