John Donnelly

Hi Carol,

I wonder if either of these two could be John's brothers:

Patrick Donnelly born 1835 (possibly his twin?). In the 1901 census he was a widower living with two of his children and three grandchildren in Mohill.

Michael Donnelly born 1821, lived in Dromharkan Glebe. Michael had 3 sets of twins so maybe there's a connection.

How many children did John have?

I will do a little more research to see if I can get you more information.

Thank you. Both of those sound promising. John and Sarah had two boys - John and Elwood. I have not found any other children.

No I haven't. I've been looking for 30 years. He lived in NY City and briefly in Rochester NY.

Could you give me any information you have on the Donnelly's please - I've found some information but want to make sure it's the right family. Elwood Donnelly born in 1888 in New York, married Marion Bushnell in 1920, and died in 1964. Is this the same John? Regards, Teresa

Elwood born 1888 is the grandson of John I am searching on. Elwood is the son of John Donnelly born 1860 and Martha Corgan. John Donnely born 1835 married Sarah Elwood abt 1856 in NY.

I looked at the register but it's very hard to make out.  I saw the name Donnelly but couldn't make out anything else.

Elwood born 1888 was married to Marion Bushnell.  Is that the one you were asking about?  There have been several since then, including my uncle.
