Hello, i am looking for information on Patrick Scott and his parents/sibblings. Patrick Scott was born May 19, 1827 in Donegal Ireland to John and Margaret Scott. He emmigrated to America about 1847 and married Catherine Fluck in 1850. He lived in Freemensburg Pennsylvania and died on August 12, 1894. I am trying to determine if his parents stayed in Donegal and who their parents/family were. I am also trying to locate siblings of Patrick.

Hi Kevin,
I am sorry to see that you have not received some sort of a reply at this stage regarding your query on Patrick Scott. 1827 is a very early year to be looking for records and It is quite possible that the timeframe that you are interested in is just too far back for Records to be available to help research and tie various family connections together. You also seem to have the added burden of not knowing what parish or location in County Donegal did Patrick Scott come from which is unfortunate.
While looking up what records on ancestry.com, I can I have came across a lot of different families researching Patrick Scott and his wife Catherine Fluck as well as your own Scott Family Tree. You have a mast an impressive amount of information already however I see that no one researching Patrick has been successful in finding a Birth Record or a Location for him yet.
Have you tried http://donegal.rootsireland.ie/ for a Birth Record.
This link below will show you what availability there is for records throughout County Donegal with regards to the various locations or their religious interests. You will notice that the nearer you come to the early 1800’s the less records are available.
COUNTY DONEGAL (Roots Ireland List): Years that available Registers & Records started to be recorded in Co Donegal
If you have had no luck with that, DNA Testing with ancestry or any of the larger companies would be the only availble recommendation left, as I do know personally that a lot of Donegal families similar as myself have done this and have helped numerous emigrated families tie back to the location of their fore fathers in Donegal.
I have seen that you put up an Ancestor profile for Patrick Scott This is always good because a lot of the time families researching the same see this and get in contact directly with the poster. https://irelandxo.com/ancestor/patrick-scott
I am sorry we couldn’t be of more help to you. Hopefully someone with Scott family connections will see this query at some time and reply to you then.
Kind Regards Seamus Callaghan

Interesting, I have a Patrick Scott in my tree that was living with my ggg grandfather George in Glasgow in the 1841 census who I can not identify. However he was aged 46 and I assume he is a brother of George, therefore his parents would have been Robert and Mary Scott nee McClintock- The family says born in Donegal and I know Robert my gg grandfather was born in Donegal Town however have been unable to find any records. I wonder is John may have been a brother?? I have done DNA on ancestry. Regards RHondda
