I am researching the family of John Hannigan born 1858 in Cootehill and his wife Lizzie McCarthy Born 1879. I am especially interested in going backwards to their parents. I do see them on the 1901 census with children Patrick John born 1898 and Michael born 1900. I believe they had a sister Mary born 1899 too (but I am not positive about her).
If anyone can give me any help on this family I would be very thankful.

I would be interested to know if there is any ancestry for Patrick Malone, the sponsor in the baptism of Michael Hannigan.
The reason I have is because my Malone family originated from Cootehill before going to Australia.
Thank you, John

Thank you so much Maggie for all of this information. I find it so difficult to find much information out about my Irish family farther back than the census records.
I appreciate your help so much!
