William Okeeffe and Ellen Walsh married on 18 Feb 1884 at the Redwood Roman Catholic Chapel, Parish of Riverstown, Co. Tipperary.

William was full age, a Bachelor and Shopkeeper by trade, he was residing at Portumna at the time of his marriage.  William's father James OKeeffe was also a Shopkeeper.

Ellen Walsh was full age, a Spinster, residing at Killycross.  Her father was Michael Walsh a Farmer.  

R. Kennedy was the Parish Priest, and the marriage was held in the presence of John Carroll and Mary Elizabeth Walsh. 

The 1901 census was taken on 31st March 1901, at that time Willam and Ellen had 7 children, your Joseph was born shortly thereafter:

Joseph O'Keefe was indeed born on 6 May 1901 at Portumna, Co. Galway.

Ellen passed away on 21 Feb 1942 at Portumna, she was age 83 and a widow, son Joseph was present at death.  William had predeceased Ellen on 13 Oct 1917 at the Jervis Street Hospital, Dublin.  William was aged 59.
