the best i can do for you is that my family of connellys lived in kilworth cork right next to killmurry during that time period  when they left for america they settled in NYC  beforew the civil war ,,,, Lt Edmund Connelly was in the new york 69th regiment and was captured at Bull Run ..... he led the military parade up 5th ave in manhattan in 1859 when the prince of wales visited ny   the surname you mention is familiar but not proven ,,, just a side note   kilworth is on the highway m6 ,,, surely you heard the song Brennan on the Moore ,,, willie brennan lived vey close in waterford (on the border) when he robbed travelers he would retreat to the killwood mountains which the brithish soldiers had difficulty climeing  .... try google maps to get an up close view of the area ,,, so i think it likely they knew each other and you can look up the tree in ancestry ,,,,Denis connelly born 1803 in kilworth ... migrated  about 1850

I think it is most likely that the two little girls died during the famine which was most severe in the area between 1846-1849. Children's mortality was sky high. There would have been no death records kept at that time. Maybe some of thier children did survive.

in your own words, the best you can do for the person with the query above is not to attempt to answer something you clearly know nothing about and ramble on witrh some inaccurate information on your own family origins near Kilworth Co. Cork, only to further confuse the issues being queried.

In the first place, the area being queried is Kilmurry Parish which is located in the Diocese of Cork & Ross and in a totally different area of County Cork to Kilworth, probably about forty miles from mKilmurry Parish. Enough waste of time on this unrelated rubbish about a family of a different surname entirely to that being queried

Geraldine, on the other hand is probably quite accurate in her assumption that the girls may have died during the famine, causing the distraught parents to go to America to begin a new life.

Could the person raising the query please advise if  Timothy and Ellen had further children and where they were born/baptised and also where he got the record of their baptisms? I have apent some time searching resources but as yet have not located  them. I await your info.

I'm very interested in finding out more about your Tim Sullivan or other Tim Sullivan's who lived in Brooklyn in the 1860's. He was claimed to be the Uncle of my GGGrandfather James Buchanan Tobin. I found a James Tobin living as a youth with Tim Sullivan. Wish I had more info to share.

Thank you, Geraldine & Frank.  My great, great grandparents, Timothy A. Sullivan, and his wife, Elen (Murphy) Sullivan, married on February 13, 1831 in Kilmurry Parish.  They had five children born in Ireland:  Mary, who was baptized December 12, 1831; Margaret, born circa 1834; Catherine, baptized March 25, 1836; Denis, baptized June 14, 1837 and Honora, baptized May 31, 1840.  Mary, Catherine, Denis and Honora were all baptized in Kilmurry Parish.  I could not find the baptismal records for Margaret.  Timothy & Ellen's two youngest children:  Timothy, Jr. and John, were born in Pennsylvania in 1845 and circa 1847.  My research was conducted using Ancestry.com and researching the Catholic baptismal records from Ireland that are available on line.  Any additionl information that you would provide would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.  - Tim Sullivan
