I am researching more about my family history and my Dads Dad was from Bessbrook and his Mum was from Loughgilly, the family name was Loughran and I am trying to find out more about her parents, Laurence and Teresa Loughran and family specifically. From the census plus death certificates I can see they lived most of their lives on Tullyah Road, there are also lots of other Loughrans on that road and I wondered if there was any known family connection between them. Any information would be very much appreciated!
Thank you

Anne,
Tullyah is a townland (480 acres). In the 1911 census there were 30 homes there
and a population of 113. I can see 6 Loughran households there. I assume that this is the Lawrance you are interested in:

Here’s his daughter Josephine’s birth certificate which tells you her mother was Theresa Rowney (Rooney).
Here’s the parents marriage in 1888:
The Valuation revision records show Laurence on plot 10 in Tullyah. That was a 10 acre farm he inherited from his father James in 1880.
Laurence died in 1917. Here’s his probate abstract (summary). The will itself is in PRONI in Belfast. You can view it there free or they will copy it for you for a fee.
Probate of the Will of the late Laurence Loughran, Tullyah, Co. Armagh, Farmer, who died 4 February 1917, granted at Armagh, 14 February 1920 to Peter Doyle, Farmer. Effects: £32.
It’s likely that there is a connection with the other Loughrans in the townland but to sort that out you would probably need to employ a professional researcher.
