Hello everyone,

I have posted before in 2017 about my William (silk weaver of Hanover St and Brabazon Row) and Jane Donne family in Dublin but now I have found a burial for Jane 20 August 1870 in Mount Jerome Cemetery. I have attached the Interment details.

I would like to know if it is possible to obtain a copy of her DC/record for this year. I had a look on the GRO Dublin website but there doesn't seem to be anywhere I can do a search and I don't know the date of death.

Mount Jerome Cemetery doesn't appear to have the original burial records when I contacted them as the attached list is all they sent me plus a photo of the gravesite. 

Irish genealogy ie hasn't got her burial or death listed either and their civil list starts about 1871.

Jane is buried in an unmarked grave with 5 other family members. She was living in Mount Pleasant Square when she died.

I live in Australia and have to rely on what I can find so I would be most appreciative if someone would be able to advise me.

  • Hello Marj, I am looking at unanswered queries and you can obtain the ledger entry by email for €4, this is not the official certificate which is €20

    I assume the name and year will do, it returns the name as the more common Dunne on my searches.

    I clicked on the link you sent me but it comes up as "No Entry - not found ". Is there possibly another link? I tried copying & paste in a new tab and got the same reply. Jane Donne was my 3xgt grandma so would really love to know when she died.

  • Hi Pat,

    I had a look in Irish Genealogy but even under the name Jane Dunne there is one possibility but I think wrong area. Usually there's "a view image" on the entry but these entries don't have that so I think I'll leave it until I can positively prove it is her entry.
