Flight of the Doves! Filmed in different parts of County Galway including my first home in Dunlo Street, Ballinasloe, where they filmed the Garda Barracks scenes! They used actual Gardai as extras because my Uncle Liam was a young recruit at the time and he is in it!

I love anything Irish but the first Irish movie I saw at the cinema was Ryan's Daughter. Loved the story and the scenery in that one.
Another one I loved particularly was Philomena, partly because of Judi Dench but it was a true story.
THANKS for this listing above, so many others I haven't seen that I will look out for now. :)

Black '47 - Set in Ireland during the Great Famine, the film follows an Irish Ranger who has been fighting for the British Army abroad, as he abandons his post to reunite with his family. The title is taken from the most devastating year of the famine, 1847, which is referred to as "Black '47". The film is much like an old-style American Western, but the Irish version...

Blue Max..... Although it is not an Irish film... It was filmed in Ireland near Dublin. I remember as a child watching the dog fights above my Aunt & Uncles cottage and also driving to find 'The Set'. The whole family went to see it was a big Blockbuster and I remember feeling that we had been part of it... Sounds weird now, but through the eyes of a child!

THE MOST FERTILE MAN IN IRELAND 2000 some ladies in Belfast were finding it difficult to fall pregnant - who you going to call - the man with the highest sperm count in Ireland. But will he get snipped or not. James Nesbitt, Kris Marshall, Bronagh Gallagher.

I agree with "The Banshees of Inisherin," "The Wind that Shakes the Barley" and "The Secret of Roan Inish." I would also add: "Black '47," "The Wonder," "Angela's Ashes" and "Ondine."

I am surprised no one mentioned 'By the Rising of the Moon' by Tyrone Power. Perhaps because it is rarely shown (at least in Chicago) nut I recomment looking for it
