I have hit a brick wall with my 3ggp.  Dennis Kennedy my 2 ggf was baptised in Borrisokane in 1845.  His father was William Kennedy and his mum Mary Carroll.  I cannot find birth records or marriage record from them and I'm not even sure if they were originally from this area.  Their birth dates range from 1817 to 1822 depending which census record you look at.  They were in Wales from 1851 but prior to that the records are difficult to find.  I found Mary(the daughter's baptismal record and that was also in Borrisokane in 1847.  I would be so grateful for any help.  Many thanks.     I remember doing a search for a Michael from these names and wondered if it was the same family.

  • My great great grandparents were Patrick and Alice "Neville"Carroll of Lisronagh, Co. Tipperary. They had 11 children baptized at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Powerstown , between 1815 and 1835. Ellen, Thomas,Nicholas, William and Edmund were all sponsors to some of the children, so I'm assuming there is some connection. Mary Carroll, a daughter was baptized there is 1817.Could this be your Mary Carroll? From the church records, I found the Marriage of Denis Carroll and Bridget Kennedy and also the birth of a son Anthony Any of this sound familiar? Carol "Carroll" Sherer c
