Hello My ancestor Patrick Rooney may have been born circa 1820 in Dolphins Barn Dublin.
I have found further relatives living in this area. His Father may have been John Rooney and his mother Christina with siblings James and Anne.
There is a marraige reference to 1766 for ......Rooney and .....D'Arcy at St Michael & St John Catholic church. Sadly I do not know first names but this puts the Rooney family in Dublin as early as 1766.
I found a possible address in a search I conducted where he was living at Name:Patrick Rooney
Residence Year:1838
Street Address:Dolphins bn
Residence Place:Dublin, Ireland
Occupation or Trade:Tanner And Currier
I believe this to be my ancestor as he married Anne Verschoyle In Dublin Circa 1837 in Dolphins Barn.
I have located birth records of three of his children
James, Patrick, and Henry all born and/baptised at St James Church Dublin
He died In 1851 or 1852 in Dolphins Barn leaving a family of 8 children and his wife Anne. Anne and all of her children with the exception of Susannah migrated to Australia on the Essex in 1871.
I have discovered that he is buried in Glasnevin cemetery aged 45 years in 1852.
The Verschoyle family was well known in Dublin and I enclose a newspaper article regarding an assault on John Verschoyle and Patrick Rooney in 1839

Hi Maggie
My name is Emily, I’m an Australian descendant of Annie Veres Choyle and Patrick Rooney through my maternal grandmother Heather Murray, her farther was William Murray Junior (1878-1965).
I can share some family records if you’re interested?
