I visited this graveyard a few years ago with a Fagan second cousin, and saw some family headstones. The family have been at Oldcastle for many generations, and it was my first time visiting Ireland, from Australia. There is a headstone that is puzzling, and I have hit a brick wall in my searching, wondering if anyone is connected to this Michael and Rose Fagan, or have any info that might help me
"this stone was erected by James Fagan and Catherine Fagan alias McGuire of Newcastle in memory of his father Michael who died October 6 1779 aged 83 and his wife Rose who died May21 178_ aged 78? Also his brother Laurence husband to the above Catherine who died July.........."
