My great grandfather was Martin McLoughlin, he was born sometime between 1842 and 1848 I think. His father was Augustin McLoughlin, they were both farmers. Martin married Margaret Burke in 1869, she was from Faartown. I have records for all their children except Elenor(I only have her birth registration). She doesn't appear in the 1901 census so I'm assuming she had left home by then. I came across a census from 1911 that lists a Ellen McLoughlin born in 1875 that was at the Sister of Mercy. I know that Elenor could have gone by Ellen or Nora. I just don't know what happened to her. My grandfather was born in Mountbellew and so was his siblings, Austin, Andrew and Elenor. According to the 1901 census they lived in the Constabulary District of Mountbellew, Electoral Division of Cloonkeen, Townland of Clooshivna, Baronyand Parish of Killian and Sub District of Ballinamore. I would like to know if possible who Augustin(my great great granfather) was married to and if they had any other children than my great grandfather Martin.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Trish,
Religous orders keep great records. Why not write to the archivist for the Sisters of Mercy?

Thank you Patricia for the suggestion. I sent an email and received a reply right away. The connection didn't pan out so I'm back to the drawing board on Elenor. Also if you can find any information about my great grandfather's siblings it would be much appreciated.
Thank you,
