Mary Loughnane abt 1789 - 1869

The place Borrisokane I know well. I was born near there.
Denis Short died 8th April 1900, he lived in the Terryglass area in the townland called Macaloon  often as McLoon.
One of his daughters Judith married William Armitage. 
Another, Kate married James Leonard.
A son, James married Mary Collins and were in Muckloonmodderee which is the name for McLoon townland in 1901.
Another son, Michael lived next to James, he wasn't married in 1901 but a cousin was living there and she was a widow called Ann Egan.
There isn't a Mary Short in 1869 in Borrisokane or Roscrea. (they were the registration districts)
There is a Catherine Short there in 1867.
Judith known as Julia and her family lived in Kilbarron in 1901.
Kate and her family lived in Terryglass only a few doors down from the Post Office, now a shop or was 2 years ago, next to Paddy's Bar.

he is authenaticating the Birth . . of . .  Denis Shortt  . . . in 1812 . . in ROSCREA . . St.Cronans Parish Church . . . 

Confirmation of which . . on Roots search . . (see below)

Yes . . . Margot found a similar Birth  (Ancestry) ... same period . . same subject NAME . . but in Borrisokane . . . (below)

But these are two seperate Registers of Church Births . . . in two diff.locations . . .

So . . the conclusion I draw . . is that you were on the right track . . with cert. of Roscrea birth.

Thank you so much Margot and Eamonn!  First of all, I must apologize for not putting more information on Denis.  Denis immigrated to America and settled in New York 1852.  He died 1884 Kings County, New Yorki.  I am able to trace his desendents going forward to my mother.  But going back from Denis, parents etc. has been impossible.  I don't know if this makes a difference, probably not.  Hopefully someone may see this quest regarding those family lines and will be able to offer information as well.  I will keep trying.
