Hi Maggie,
I hope this message finds you well. From the birth and marriage data you mentioned, I'm assuming you've searched: https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/. While compulsory registration was in not enforced until 1864, you may be able to trace descendants through this site via the address and family name. Also, you can search the 1901 and 1911 census here: http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/ by the family name and address, so you might get some info by searching the addreses you have. Also, you can asssess maps of the area at: http://map.geohive.ie. There's different base-layers you can add to see historical maps, so you might see some interesting stuff to help visual your familyis history. You can also trace the churches to see where the marrige took place. (see attached photos of current map of Brown St and one from 1888. Additionally, baptismal records can be traced here: https://registers.nli.ie/. The Local Studies department at Carlow County Library is also a place of rich sources, though some can only be consulted in person such as the archive of the local newspapers that may also be of insight to you! see: http://www.carlowlibraries.ie/explore/local-studies.
I hope this information helps, or at least points you in the right direction. Feel free to get in touch should you need further assistance.

Hi Judy thanks for your response, but I'm afraid I cannot research any records that are not 100% legible, as an eye problem has deteriorated and I'm finding reading extremely difficult. Thanks again for your response.. Maggie
