Hello - I'm tracing the family of Daniel McCarthy and Honora White, Estnabrinna, Muintervara (Sheep's Head). One of their children is recorded as Ellen Grammy, father Daniel Grammy and mother Honora White. Does anyone know if 'Grammy' was a McCarthy nickname in the area?
I come from a long line of McCarthy s not come across that name before. Unless it was a name carried through from that branch.
