Hi all, looking for any information at all on my Irish family as hit a huge brick wall. John Cronan born 1836 approx in Athleague, Roscommon migrated to Liverpool UK I would guess around late 1850s. Married Margaret O'brien. Father was Thomas Cronan (listed in some records as Coneran) born around 1808 who was married to Catherine Geraghty. Father of Thomas was Tadgh. I think they were probably very poor as one of John and Margaret's sons (my great granddad) was born in Liverpool workhouse. I'm desperate for any information or any pointers. Many thanks

Anita:
The subscription site Roots Ireland has a baptismal record for John Cronan baptized November 20 1836 in Athleague RC parish with parents Thomas Cronan and Catherine Geraghty. Sponsors were Bryan Cronan and Jean (as transcribed) Cronan. I did not locate a marriage record. I don't see any records for siblings to John. However, the parish register on the NLI site https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0537 shows a gap for marriage records from February 1834-March 1836 so it is possibe Thomas and Catherine were married in the gap period.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you so much. Any suggestions on what to try next. I've got stuck at the Thomas and Catherine stage a little and definitely at Tadgh. I just don't seem to be able to find many Cronans at all. Once again many thanks.
