Hi everybody,

I am looking for information on a ancestor named Walter Wallace. Acordding to his Obituary he was born in Galway, Ireland in 1855 and died in May 9th 1938 in California. There was no information on who is parents or even the town he was born in.I was adopted so I am not using my last name in the search.

Any information on him or his parents would be greatly appreciated. I am aware that information is tough to find in that time period. So any little bit will help.

    Subscription site - www.rootsireland.ie - has a record of a Walter Wallace baptised in the parish of Glinsk, North County Galway on February 26th 1853. His father is recorded as Michael Wallace and his mother as Ellen Wallace. 

    Do you have his marriage and death record? There should be some information on them, as his death is pretty recent. For location of Glinsk, see map of Ballymoe - Glenamaddy close to the Roscommon County boundary.

  • Mcoy, Thank you very much. i will look into that information. The obit said he was 83 at time of death. I've done the math and it comes to 1855.  It could be him or not.
