My 3rd great-grandparents were James White and Margaret Keyes according to thier son James Jr's marriage record in Palmyra, New York. James came to the USA in the early 1850's. So many parish records are misssing for this place it took me years to trace them to Rathdowney using DNA and church records in the USA. There are Delany's, Fitzparick's, and Delahunty's from Laois in the Palmyra church records as well. Would welcome any information.

Allie:
The Rathdowney RC records start back in 1763 but unfortunately there are a number of gaps in records and it appears from the parish register index that there are no records from 1810-1839. Likely this is the time period when James White and Margaret Keyes married and their son was baptized. I searched on the subscription site Roots Ireland for all of Co. Laois but no records turned up.

The 1853 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for the parish https://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/laois/rathdowney.htm shows a number of Whites including four James White records.
