Hi
I would like to find more on my ancestors John Humphrys / Humphris and Catherine Coffey (many spelling variations on both) They were married Nov 3, 1818 Diocese Cashel and Emly, Newport Parish and had 7 children between 1825-1835. The children were all baptized in Diocese Cashel and Emly, Doon and Castletown.
Specific quesiton. If is it likely based on where the marriage is registered and the baptisms were recorded John and Catherine lived in Tipperary? When looking these parishes up there seems to be some overlap between Tipperary and Limerick.
Thanks, Julie

Hi Julie,
I am not the Doon Volunteer as referred to by Roger McDonnell.
Google Humphreys Genealogy by Mark Humphreys, for information on the families of Doonane, Co. Tipperary and Glenstal in Co.Limerick.
The Tithe records for 1827 record a William Humphreys farming in the townland of Doonane in the parish of Killoscully in 1827. It is in the Barony of Owney and Arra and Poor Law Union of Nenagh in County Tipperary.
Regards,
McCoy

I am searching for my 2x Great Grandmother, Catherine Humphries/Humphreys. According to the research by my aunt she was from Upper Raheen, Solloghodbeg Parish, County Tipperary. Her birth was about 1810. In the parish records of Emly, County Tipperary, she is listed as the mother of a number of children including my Great Grandmother Bridget Crowe, Daiel Crowe being listed as the father. I have not found a marriage record for them. They emigrated to the USA around 1852 with several of their children.

Do you have this page from the register? If it only takes you to the Register, the entry is at the top of page 34 on the right hand side..

Hi Julie I am interested also in Humphreys from Newport. My great grandfather was Patrick Humphreys born 1812 , unfortunately I cannot find baptismal record. I have connected to descendants of a William Humphreys and Johanna Ryan. William died and the family went to America 1850. This is my father’s family. I also saw the marriage record mentions Patrick Coffey Catherine’s father was from Killeen? There are grave records of Coffeys in Killeen including Patrick online. Kilcomenty graveyard, google it and the gravestones are recorded. Regards Mary

Hi Tracey,
Yes i have my 3x great grandparents marriage record but thank you so much. I cannot believe how amazing you volunteers are. By looking at the marriage and baptismal records i wanted to be able to make an assumption about what county these Irish ancestors lived in. Marriage was at Newport parish, Tipperary and address is Killeen for father of the bride so assume Catherine was living in Tipperrary before she was married. The childeren were baptized in Doon and Castletown which looks to overlap Limerick and Tipperary. Since there is not an address on the Baptismal record i cannot really tell what county they were living in. Thanks again for your help, Julie

Julie I looked at your baptismal records and there is an address given , Cottage. If you google Cottage there is a Cottage in Limerick Uregare .It appears to be quiet a distance from Doon, so it might not be relevant? Also there is a Cottage in Tipperary Gortkelly, again too far from Doon. Cottage was on all of the baptismal records, unless there was an address back in the 1800s called Cottage in the Doon parish ?
