Hi trying to find my GG grandparents Patrick Fitzsimons and Honor(a) Lynam. I have the baptismal records of all their 8 children who were baptised in the parish of Castletown-Geoghegan Westmeath, from 1847 onwards. I have their civil death records indicating that they were living in  Cloncrow Westmeath then. I just cannot find birth or a marriage record for them! I think the Lynam family were from Cloncrow, Fitzsimons could have been elsewhere not sure! Any suggestions would be helpful.

    I think the problem is a gap in the marriage records for Castletown-Geoghegan from March 1835 to October 1846  and the Fitzsimons/Lynam marriage was likely in the gap period. The marriage register for that period was likely lost.

    Available Castletown records start in 1829.  I searched on the subscription site Roots Ireland and there were no Honoria Lynam records pre-1845. There were four Patrick Fitzsimons records in the 1820s but there is no way to know if any of the four were for your ancestor.

    I have also used rootsireland and have been unable to ascertain, whether the Patrick's listed are my ancestors. Thank you for your assistance, much appreciated.
