I'm looking for information on Mary Welch from county Killkenny. Born about 1838. Her parents were maybe James and Johanna (Rooney). Any info regarding home town/parish or siblings would be appreciated. She emmigrated to the USA about 1857. Eventually marrying Patrick Saunders/Sanders (also from Killkenny) about 1860.

I searched the susbcription site Roots Ireland and there are many Mary Walsh baptismal records in Co. Kilkenny in the 1830s but none with a mother with the surname Rooney. Can you confirm that is the correct maiden name for the mother?

Hi and thank you for searching. Mary's last name is Welch not Walsh and her mother's maiden name is Rooney.
