Hi,

I have recently moved to North Brookfield, Massachusetts. I am also a volunteer for FindaGrave Website. I am finding multitudes of Irish families and people who are buried here that were not on the website prior to now.

For Example; Buried at St. Joseph's Catholic church is: Rev Michael Walsh, Carricanora Parish of Slieverue, Kilkenny Co. Ireland, Died May 16, 1885. AE 47 Yrs

He is in the 1880 census of North Brookfield, Worcester County, Massachusetts. Listed as 43 years old, Single, and a Catholic Clergyman. Another priest, Cornelius M Foley, white male, Single, age 43 is listed in the same household and also a Catholic Clergyman from Ireland. Bridget Crow, age 22, is listed with them as a servant from Ireland.

What is the best way to put information on these families and people I am finding from Ireland on your website so that they can easily be found?

Thank you for your help!

Your friend across the Pond,

Sandy

Thanks for your message. We have an XO Chronicles site where our diaspora can add stories (and pictures if they have them) of their ancestors who left Ireland usually in the 19th century.

    https://irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy/ancestor-database

Currently, we have over 20,000 chronicles on our site and more are being added.

Fr. Walsh would be a great addition with a picture of his headstone.

I'm not sure how much time you have to add items to our Chronicles site. We can work with you to determine the best way to add these records.

By the way, I live in Maryland but volunteer for IRO.

I will contact our HQ staff in Ireland.

  • Hi Roger,

    Thank you!

Will get a pic of Fr. Walsh headstone and add his info. Has been snowing and pretty cloudy here so have not been able to get a decent pic yet.  Clearing up preetty good today so will get one this afternoon.

Have some other Irish folks I found in St Joseph's Cemetery that I will try to add now.

How do I track my own messages on this site?  I don't see a tab for that.  Have I just overlooked it somehow?

I'm surprised that you still have snow. It is 76 here just outside Baltimore but a cold front come in Wednesday night.

I can see that you are already adding records. I've seen some Dowling posts in Ancestor Chronicles.

I'm not an expert on navigating the web site so lets try a few steps and if it doesn't work I will get someone knowledgable.

Go to the top of the main page and hit the blue button titled My Ireland XO      Hit the button and on the left hand side you will see at the top  My Ancestors   hit that Tab and I think you will see the Ancestor Chronicle posts you have made.

Let me know if you need more help.

By the way, I think there is an ADMIN review step so the items may not show up immediately.
