Hi This is my brick wall and need help please.
I have done a DNA and it points me to Eyrecourt.
My Archibald Stephenson/stevenson According to the 1841 Census born abt 1786 Ireland woolwich kent England
Married 14 Aug 1809 • St Mary Magdalene, Woolwich to Elizabeth Pegden
Then Again 21/10/1827 • Lee, Kent, England to Eleanor Davis
He died 27th December 1848 • Plumstead, Kent, England
I cannot seem to find from where he came in Ireland or his parents or siblings?
So would be delighted if I can break this wall down!
Where would I find birth records or family for him please.
My dads side of the family
Thank you Julia Srephenson

Julia:
I will assume that your Archibald Stephenson was Church of Ireland. Records for the Church of Ireland parish near Eyrecourt are not available until 1871. If Archibald was Roman Catholic records are not available until 1884.
I looked at the Tithe records for the area and did not see a Stephenson.
I looked at the 1846 Slater's Directory for the town and still no Stephenson.

The 1855 Griffiths Valuation head of household listing for Donanaghta civil parish showed a J.B. Stephenson on Main St. in Eyrecourt but no other info. https://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths/galway/donanaghta.htm
I did not see a Stephenson in Donanaghta parish in the 1901 census.

Ireland was part of the British Empire and no records were kept because it was considered internal travel.
