Hi everyone!
I found the death record for my Great-Uncle but I cannot locate where he is buried.
He was born in Banteer Parish, Kanturk Co Cork in 1899. He never married & stayed on the old
Homestead. He diedm unfortunately of a stove explosion in the kitchen in 1967. The desth record
says Banteer. His name was Cornelius O'Callaghan, he went by "Con"
Thank you for any help! Sincerely, MaryAnn O'Malley-Ellis

Mary Ann:
I looked on FindaGrave and historicgraves.ie and although I saw many O'Callaghan transcriptions, I did not find one for a Con who died on Christmas day 1967.
You may want to e-mail the parish https://www.churchservices.tv/banteer and see if they can check their records. Not sure of the current state of parish offices being open. Restrictions are slowly being lifted in Ireland.

Phyl:
Thanks for finding this record.
Mary Ann:
You mentioned that your great-uncle never married but the epitaph on this record shows two children. The date of death appears to be correct.

Hello Mary Anne
Trawling through Ireland xo I came across your query re Cornelius O Callaghan death in 1967. I can tell you that he was buried in Lyre cemetery in Banteer parish and I attach the local newspaper notice of his death and burial. Unfortunately I do not have details of burials in that cemetery. At least you now know where he is buried
