Daniel Rogan, possibly from Dublin, sailed from Dublin on June 13, 1791, according to family lore.  He arrived in Baltimore, Maryland, on August 25, 1791, his 21st birthday, ship name unknown.  Again, according to family history, he wouldn't reveal anything of his family in Ireland.  On March 1, 1797, he married Catherine Crawford in Frederic County, Maryland, later moving to Sullivan County, Tennessee.  Need help in researching these early Ireland dates and ship information.  Thanks!

  • Lucy:

I searched on two different sites and did not locate a baptismal record for Daniel. There were no baptismal records for a Daniel Rogan around 1770. Very few churches in Ireland have records back to that time frame.

You won't find ship departure info for 1791.

    Have you considered DNA testing?

  • Thanks for your reply.   Yes, I have had DNA testing through Ancestry but have not been in contact any with Rogans yet.  Daniel is a real mystery, as is his wife Catherine Crawford of Frederick, MD.  I've found nothing on her Maryland family so can't connect her with parents and/or siblings.  Theirs may be Scottish heritage.   I appreciate your answering my query and I'll continue searching.  Thanks again!  Lucy
