brodies of Ballygeale

Hi,

I've seached the Historic Graves database for the name Brodie. I note 2 in south and east county Limerick. Your previous message (link pasted above) suggests that you might have connections in this part of the county too so I thought I might post them. One is to a headstone in a graveyard in Bulgaden that marks the burial of a George Bennett, erected by his grand nephew T. Brodie Bennett. I wonder, since T(erence) is a signifcant family name, whether this is a decendant of some of your relatives? The other is to a grave marker erected by Thomas and Emma Brodie in 1860 to their son. Again I wonder is there any connection here/

Note that while these are the only 2 Brodies listed on Historic Graves in Limerick, the database only contains headstones that are currently legible, and not all graveyards in Limerick are currently listed. Another 21 sites will be added over the coming months to the end of October. Check back then as you might be able to find more connections!

I read your note with interest and for twenty odd years I lived up the road from Ballygeale and I will enquire as to their whereabouts in the next few weeks. The only big house in the area was belonging to the Blake Kelly's does that mean anything to you.I note that you mention Lurriga Church that was the old church in Patrickswell now being used as a factory for making and designing glass.
