Hi, I am trying to find any more information on my great, great, great grandmother Brigid Plunkett, born in 1824, Bray, Wicklow. It says they lived in Old Connaught She was baptised 4th dec 1824 and her parents were William and Jane Plunkett. Siblings I think are Anne? Another Brigid?, John, Lawrence, Margaret, Mary and Nicholas. I may be reading the document wrong. Many thanks, Jane Burn x

Jane:
You are reading the document correctly. Very unusual way to maintain a parish register. Looks like someone in the parish around 1861 went thru the Bray parish register back to 1761 and summarized the entries in alphabetic order by family. I checked Roots Ireland and your Plunkett family was not listed.

One of our volunteers contacted me. He is an expert on Dublin records. He pointed out that the baptisms were actually in St. Michael's church Kingstown which was/is considered part of Co. Dublin. So I went back to Roots Ireland and searched under Co. Dublin South and sure enough I actually found ten Plunkett baptismal records with parents William and Jane. There was an Edward Pluick baptized April 8 1822 in Kingstown with parents William and Jane. Witnesses Edward Hobbs and Mary Plunkett.
There was also a William Plunkett baptized January 12 1831 with parents William and Jane Witnesses Nicholas Plunkett and Bridget Mac Neary (maybe Nicholas was a brother to William).
William Plunkett married Jane Toole in Kingstown on May 12 1807 Witnesses Laurence Toole and Michael Currin.

Thank you so much for your help! So kind of you. Finding something out gives you goosebumps. I would so love to know what the common employments were in this area as I can't seem to come up with anything else on Google xx
