Hello everyone. I visited Ireland in 2019 to research my O'Connell family and found the following. The one thing I would love to find out is if I could possibly have any relatives in and around the area. My great grandparents had 7 children, William Michael b.1877, Mary Alice b.1878, Kate O'Connell b.1881, Martin b.1883, Michael William b.1888, Patrick b. 1890 and Francis (Frank) b.1895. I'm hoping that with this many children I may be able to find some relatives somewhere but try as I might I can't. So with the information below I'm wondering if anyone can help.
My Great Grandfather Michael William O'Connell and my Grandfather also Michael William and all his family used to work in Loughton House as gardeners and domestic servants as was written in the 1901 and 1911 Census and my great Uncle Martin ended up as the Head Gardener around the 1950s. My great grandmother, Mary O'Connell nee Byrne died in 1922 in Loughton. and her eldest daughter Mary O'Connell registered her death, who also lived in Loughton, I think.
My Great Uncle Martin died in 1964 and his wife Josephine a few years later in the cottage that adjoined to grounds of Loughton House.
How exciting it would be to discover some long lost cousins.
Thank you in advance for any information that can be given.
Regards Judi

Hello Judi,
You could hire a professional genealogist to look for living relatives, but it would be a lot cheaper to contact the local historical society in Roscommon with your query and/or to write to the local weekly newspaper in Roscommon..
Good luck!

Good morning Patricia, thank you for your reply. I'm not sure I could afford to hire anyone but your other suggestions are a really good idea. Thank you.
