Dear IrelandXO,
Could you help with any information on Margaret Massie Mcdonald. The only information I have is that she was born July 13, 1680 in Ireland and died in Alnwick Township, Northumberland, Ontario, Canada.date unknow. She married William Mitchell Born 31 Mar 1675 in Liberton, Midlothian, Scotland. Died 18 Nov 1776 in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. They had a son Andrew Alexander Mitchell born 1725 in Limerick Co. Ireland.
Thank you in advance for any information you can find.

Donna:
Very few church records available in Ireland back to the 1600s. In Co. Limerick, only three Church of Ireland parishes have records back to 1725 or earlier. I searched on the subscription site Roots Ireland and the earliest Andrew Mitchell baptismal was in 1746 but the parents names were not William and Margaret.
Have you considered DNA testing?

Hi Roger,
I found a source on another site.....Scotland Births and Baptisms, "1564-1950" data base, William Mitchel April o,1675, Liberton,,Midlothian, Scotland.
On Find a grave. William Mitchell Mar, 1695-Nov.18, 1776. Memorial ID 132605258 burial at Peterhead Old Churchyard, PeterHead, Aberdenshire, Scotland.
The following information is from my Great Grandmother Mitchell and Grandmother Grays records. Andrew Mitchell born 1695 in Co. Limerick, Ireland died 1796 in Orange Co., N.C. He married Mary McGowan who was born in Limerick Co., Ireland
Andrews siblings were David, Isabel (Mitchell) Burns 1750-unknown, William, John and Elizabeth.. I don't have anything definite who their parents were and that is what I would really like to find out. On another genealogy site someone has William and Margaret Massie McDonald as the parents. I also found where Elwyn, IrelandXO Volunteer had posted a reply to Lisa a few year ago that there was an Elizabeth born 1720 to William Mitchell and Margaret Henderson in Inverkeithing and a William 1731 to William Mitchell (no wifes name given) in Balmerino. But in Lisa's information given she had Andrew being born in Scotland.
I'm hoping to plan a trip to visit Ireland next summer and wanting to get as much history as possible. I have Irish and Scottics ancerstors on both sides of my family.
Thank you so much for all your help!

Donna:
I searched for baptismal records for Isabel and William with no success. You had Andrew born 1695 but earlier message showed 1725? I assume you meant 1725.
Keep us posted about your 2022 travel plans.
