My great grandmother was Mary Fitzgerlad and I know she had a sister Margaret Fitzgerald They were born in 1831 and 1834 respectively, acording to marriage certificates from England Brtistol.

Margaret gives her birthplace as Clonakilty and Mary gives Dysart ( the Englsh census takers interpretation from 1861) but I belive this is Disert in Clonakilty area. On Mary's death certificate Ring Cork is atated, a small village a mile and a half from Clonailty.

Their father was Jame Fitzgerlad who moved the family to Bristol where Margaret met her husband John Driscoll and Mary hers, Patrick Donovan.

Has anyone any leads on this family so I can pinpoint where to visit when this epidemic abates.  James Donovan, Stavanger ,Norway

  • Hi,

There are early Cork baptisms at irishgenealogy.ie. When searching, perhaps have a little leeway around those birth years...they may not be exact.
