I located an 1891 marriage in Killala Co. Mayo. The date was November 28. Patrick was 21and was a railway employee. Bridget was 20 and a dressmaker. They both lived in Killala. The father of Patrick was Patrick and the mother of Bridget was Thomas. Both were farmers. Witnesses were Patrick Hughes and Kate Heneghan.

There are birth records for four children: Mary 1892 Alice 1894 James Martin 1895 Margaret Agnes 1898.

Did the family leave Mayo after 1898? I don't see them in Mayo in the 1901 census.

There are a number pf Bridget Hughes records in Mayo around the late 1860s/early 1870s with father Thomas. I found a baptism in the Ballysakeery RC parish in late 1871 and this is likely the correct record. One of the witnesses to the 1891 marriage was a Kate Henaghan and the mother on the baptismal/birth records was a Mary Henigan or Heneghan. The baptism was December 26 1871 father Thomas Hughes and mother Mary Heneghan. Ballysakeery RC parish. Witnesses were Henigans.

The civil birth record was January 8th 1872 but I think the family registered the birth late and to avoid a fine, they changed the date. Likely Bridget was born a few days before Christmas. Here is the birth record

    see eighth record  https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_retur…

I found a sister Mary born 1875  see third record

I also located a sister Margaret who was baptized August 28 1881 (so born a few days earlier) in Ballysakeery RC parish. The civil record shows she was born January 1 1882 so the parents again changed the date of birth to avoid the fine. See top record

The Hughes family was living in Ballybroony townland in Ballysakeery civil parish.

There was also a brother Michael born October 26 1877. See next to last record at this link. You will note the record was lined thru for a technical reason which I won't go into details but this is his record. Once again the family fudged the date of birth to avodi the fine. Michael was baptized September 16 1877 so born a few days before.

Thomas Hughes died in 1899. He was a blacksmith. Family still in Ballybroony. See third record.
