Searching for the family of my great-grandfather, Patrick Mulvihill, b. Longford abt. 1837-1841. I have found several Patrick Mulvihill's in Roman Catholic baptismal records during these years, but don't have enough information to identify which may be my ancestor. Patrick was said to have been a famine orphan and was brought to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the United States in 1852 by a relative by marriage, Bridget Farrell McDonough, b. abt 1805-1810. Bridget was the wife of James McDonough, b. abt. 1800-1805, who was already in the U.S. James McDonough's mother or grandmother may have been a Mulvihill. The McDonough's townland in Longford was listed as "Estate" (possibly Cornadowgh?) in some of their children's baptismal records. Patrick is said to have been brought to the U.S. to stay with an uncle. Mulvihill family members Patrick may have been related to in the U.S. include Francis Mulvihill, b. abt. 1820, married to Bridget Skally, and Thomas Mulvihill, b. about 1825-1829, whose mother may have been Bridget Mulvihill, b. abt. 1787. Patrick Mulvihill was also closely related to a Thomas Mulvihill b. Longford abt. 1822, and Mary Mulvihill, b. abt. 1825-1835, married to Patrick Steele in 1852. Mary Mulvihill Steele immigrated to the U.S. in the late 1850s, but returned to Ireland temporarily, immigrating a second time in 1859, by which time her husband Patrick must have died, as she soon remarried.  There is evidence that the cousins, Thomas Mulvihill and Mary Mulvihill Steele, were born in the townland of Loughan, Longford.

Thank you for any information you can provide as to the names of the parents or other relatives of my great-grandfather, Patrick Mulvihill.
