I've been looking for my Grt Grandfathers Family for about 10 years with no results. Thomas Mcguinness born in Swords in 1849, His Father on His Marriage Cert is Edward. Thats all I know. Thomas came to Liverpool and settled here and raised His Family. I cannot find any details about Him or Edward in Ireland. Any help would be very much appreciated.  I've virtually given up.

    Swords RC parish is in North Dublin and the records are available on the subscription site Roots Ireland. I did not find a record for Thomas with father Ed in Swords. The closest record in Swords was a June 5 1846 record for a Thomas Magenis with father Christopher and mother Mary Caulfield.

    I wanted to check Dublin city records but the site irishgenealogy.ie is currently not available to me so I will check later and let you know.

  • Thank you so much Roger, I appreciate your efforts. He is definitely a mystery.  I've tried for so long,  the only explanation I can think of is that the name Edward on Thomas's Marriage Certificate is incorrect....
